A representative from YOUNG WOLF PDF has confirmed that resistance forces conducted successful operations against military council troops in Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in five military council soldiers killed and two captured alive. The attacks took place over two consecutive days on August 12 and 13, targeting military council columns that had emerged from Sartaung Police Station and Kyarmin Gyi village. The carefully planned operations demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in the region.
During the engagement, in addition to the five fatalities and two captures, seven military council troops sustained injuries. The resistance forces successfully withdrew from the area without suffering any casualties. The attacks were strategically timed to target the convergence of two military council columns – one moving along the Mandalay-Shwebo road and another from Sartaung Police Station. The resistance forces waited for the precise moment when these two columns merged before launching their coordinated attacks over the two-day period.
Currently, approximately 100 remaining troops from the military council column that advanced along the Mandalay-Shwebo road are stationed in Kyarmin Gyi village. Resistance forces continue to closely monitor their movements to track their next potential destination. While no weapons were seized during the encounters, resistance forces confirmed that the military council troops have retreated to Sartaung town. The successful operation demonstrates the growing effectiveness of resistance forces in conducting coordinated attacks against military council positions in the Sagaing Region, which has been a significant center of resistance against military rule.
