On August 15, the military council conducted multiple airstrikes targeting villages in Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region, Ngatayauk Township of Mandalay Region, and Pauk and Myaing Townships of Magway Region. The attacks, which began in the afternoon and continued until evening, were carried out using both aircraft and armed helicopters, according to local sources. In Wetlet Township’s southeastern area, a J-Fighter aircraft conducted two separate airstrikes at 1:44 PM and 1:46 PM. The extent of civilian casualties from these attacks remains unconfirmed at present.
In the western part of Ngatayauk Township, a Y-12 aircraft from Tatkon Air Base conducted airstrikes around 6 PM. Similarly, villages in the eastern part of Pauk Township were targeted beginning at 2:15 PM, with a Y-12 aircraft dropping 26 bombs. While the exact extent of civilian casualties remains unconfirmed, local residents were forced to flee to safer locations. Local sources reported that these airstrikes were conducted to clear routes for military council supply convoys operating in the Pauk Township area.
In Myaing Township, two armed helicopters from Military Division 101 based in Pakokku conducted two separate airstrikes near Nyaungkone village around 3 PM. These particular attacks reportedly resulted in no civilian casualties. The military council’s intensified air campaign across these regions has caused widespread fear among local populations, with many residents in affected areas being forced to abandon their homes and seek refuge in safer locations. The continued use of airstrikes by the military council has significantly disrupted civilian life in these regions, leading to increased displacement and humanitarian concerns.
