
Revolutionary forces launched an attack on Military Battalion 582 and Maliwon Police Station based in Maliwon village, Kawthaung Township, Tanintharyi Region, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 military council personnel including one officer, according to revolutionary sources. The coordinated assault took place on August 12 at 2:30 PM, when resistance forces simultaneously targeted both military installations.
During the battle, multiple military council personnel including an officer were killed, with the deceased officer being cremated the following day on August 13. The fighting also resulted in significant damage to several buildings housing soldiers and police personnel. Currently, military council forces are conducting operations across various townships in Tanintharyi Region, engaging in violent activities against civilians.
Particularly in Yebyu, Dawei, Launglone, and Kawthaung townships, military council troops are conducting operations that include burning civilian homes, forcibly looting valuable possessions, and arbitrarily arresting and killing innocent civilians, according to local sources. These brutal actions by military council forces have caused severe fear and anxiety among local residents. The military council’s ongoing campaign of violence has created an atmosphere of terror in these communities, with residents facing constant threats to their lives and property.
