
The People’s Healthcare Network has reported that the military council conducted airstrikes on the Northern Township Hospital in Kalay, Sagaing Region, resulting in significant damage to the facility’s infrastructure. The attack occurred on August 11 at approximately 8:21 PM, targeting the hospital which was providing essential healthcare services to the local population. While the building sustained considerable damage from the aerial bombardment, local sources confirmed that no civilians were injured in the attack.
According to the statement released by the People’s Healthcare Network, this marks the seventh time their medical facilities have been targeted by military airstrikes. The network strongly condemned these deliberate attacks on civilian targets, characterizing them as inhumane acts of destruction by the military council. The organization has affirmed its commitment to standing alongside the public until the success of the Spring Revolution, despite these ongoing military assaults on healthcare infrastructure.
In a separate incident in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, the military’s artillery unit at Kyauksetpin launched an unprovoked attack on Yeikonsuu village on August 14 at approximately 3:20 PM. The attack, which involved two artillery shells being fired into the village without any ongoing conflict in the area, resulted in injuries to three civilians. Local sources confirmed that while the civilians sustained injuries from the artillery fire, their conditions were not life-threatening. These incidents represent a continuing pattern of military attacks on civilian targets across the Sagaing Region.
