
Local residents reported that the terrorist military council forces conducted an aerial bombing attack on the Construction Officer’s Quarters near Hsipaw town in northern Shan State. The attack occurred on August 9, 2023, at approximately 4:25 PM, resulting in damage to buildings, though initial reports indicate no civilian casualties. According to a local resident, while the military council’s air strike caused damage to several buildings within the compound, the exact extent of the destruction has yet to be confirmed.
Prior to this aerial attack, on July 20 at around 10:20 PM, the military council forces had also conducted an air strike on the former military council base camp of Infantry Battalion 23 in Hsipaw, dropping a 250-pound bomb from a fighter jet. These continued aerial attacks by the military council forces have created a concerning situation for the safety and security of local residents’ lives and properties in the region.
The consecutive aerial attacks by military council forces in the Hsipaw area not only affect regional stability and peace but also impact the daily lives of civilian residents.
