
On August 4, a protest march against the military dictatorship was led by the strike column from villages in the northern part of Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region. During the protest, local residents raised their voices for democracy, human rights, and justice while expressing their opposition to the military dictatorship. The protesters condemned the oppression, human rights violations, and arbitrary arrests they have been experiencing under military rule.
The northern area of Yinmabin Township has been continuously suffering from military offensives, arson attacks, and violence since the military coup. Local residents have been facing arrests, torture, looting of their properties, and forced displacement. However, the people remain steadfast in their determination to resist the military dictatorship.
Participants in the protest chanted pro-democracy slogans and anti-dictatorship messages while showing their support for the National Unity Government and People’s Defense Forces. This demonstration shows that local residents continue to fight unitedly for the swift end of the military dictatorship and the restoration of democracy.
