Three civilians were killed and two others, including a child, were injured when the terrorist military fired artillery shells in Natogyi Township, Mandalay Region, according to local residents. The incident occurred around 1 PM on August 3, 2023, when soldiers from the terrorist military’s Infantry Battalion 15 based in Myingyan Township indiscriminately fired heavy weapons at villages. The artillery shells landed and exploded in Ywagyi village, targeting civilians despite there being no active fighting in the area, as confirmed by local residents.
Additionally, in Mindat town of Chin State, the terrorist military conducted two airstrikes. The aerial attacks, which took place at 8:50 AM on August 3, resulted in damage to approximately ten buildings, including two government buildings and eight civilian homes, according to a statement released by the Mindat Township People’s Administration Team. However, no civilian casualties were reported from these airstrikes.
The terrorist military continues to commit war crimes against civilians, conducting artillery strikes and aerial bombardments even in areas where there is no active conflict. These deliberate attacks on civilians have resulted in ongoing casualties and destruction of homes and buildings across ethnic regions, as reported from various areas. The military’s actions demonstrate a pattern of targeting civilian populations with heavy weapons and airstrikes, causing loss of innocent lives and widespread property damage in both urban and rural areas.
