Local residents have reported that the military council and DKBA Bo Bo group are systematically looting civilian property from villages along the Kawkareik road in Karen State. On July 26 and 27, the military council and DKBA forces conducted organized raids on homes belonging to Hindu and Muslim residents in Nwa Chan Kone village, forcibly seizing valuable possessions. They also confiscated property from houses located within rubber plantations owned by local civilians.
According to local confirmations, the looted items are being temporarily stored at the Yathei Kyaung (also known as Dhamma Thukha Monastery) in Kyun Doe town before being transferred to Military Battalion 22 in Hpa-an. On July 28 and 29, military council forces arrived from Hpa-an to the Kyun Doe-Kawkareik road section using six-wheel trucks and forcibly seized motorcycles, tractors, refrigerators, and other household items from homes located along both sides of the road in villages including Mile 5, Mile 6, Mile 7, Mile 9, and the villages of Nyinyathalin, Yaypu, and Paingya.
While some of the looted items were being temporarily stored at the monastery, the military council and DKBA Bo Bo group reportedly sold some of the items to their associates who repair communication devices, phones, and solar electrical equipment, as well as other connected individuals. In particular, local sources revealed that Isa, the son-in-law of Maclen who repairs communication equipment for the military council, police force, and Border Guard Force near the Kyun Doe mosque, has been purchasing the looted items and reselling them in Mawlamyine city.
