Revolutionary forces have cleared roadblocks that were set up by the military council troops during their temporary deployment in Kamma town, Pakokku Township, Magway Region. The clearance operation began at 7 AM on August 1st, as the blockades had been causing significant difficulties for civilian movement throughout the town. The operation was jointly carried out by multiple revolutionary groups including RED GIANT, ABSDF Battalion 3, YGF Youth Guerrilla Force, HUNTER PAKOKKU, and Sone Kone (PDF) groups.
The military council troops had erected barriers using sandbags, furniture taken from civilian homes, and tree branches due to their fear of attacks from revolutionary forces. During the clearing operation, the revolutionary forces also seized some military uniforms left behind by the council troops. However, since military council forces still remain stationed at the town’s police station, revolutionary groups have warned civilians to avoid approaching the area. Additionally, residents have been advised not to go outside after 9 PM for their safety. The clearance operation was necessary to restore civilian access to blocked roads and ease transportation difficulties that had been affecting local residents since the military’s temporary occupation of the area.
