The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported that military council forces conducted an unprovoked aerial attack on Dor Pin village in Naung Cho Township, Northern Shan State, resulting in civilian casualties. During the July 31 attack, a 32-year-old woman was killed, while U Kham Pan, 42, and Daw Tin Tin Oo, 68, sustained injuries. The bombardment also destroyed eight houses and one private vehicle. The day before, on July 30, another aerial attack targeted Ho Kho village in the same township without any ongoing conflict, wounding one woman and destroying two houses.
Similarly, in Mandalay Region’s Thaung Tha Township, military council forces launched an aerial assault on Yone Si Gyi village using gyrocopters. According to local residents, three gyrocopters from the Meiktila Air Base conducted the attack around 12:15 PM on August 1, dropping five bombs near Yone Si Gyi village in the eastern part of Thaung Tha Township. While no casualties were reported in this incident, villagers were forced to flee their homes for safety. A local resident confirmed that people continue to remain displaced due to fears of additional attacks from the military forces.
The military council also carried out an airstrike near Oak Kine village in Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region, using a fighter jet. The attack occurred on the evening of July 31, though the extent of civilian casualties could not be immediately verified. Oak Kine village is known to be under the control of revolutionary forces. The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) and allied forces had previously succeeded in capturing all military council outposts in Thar Pin Kone village in Mattaya Township, Oak Kine village in Patheingyi Township, and Mya Kan Thar village on July 20.
These recent aerial attacks demonstrate an ongoing pattern of military council aggression against civilian areas, often targeting locations without active conflicts. The attacks have resulted in civilian casualties, destruction of private property, and forced displacement of local populations. The incidents highlight the continuing challenges faced by civilians in conflict-affected areas and the tactical shift towards aerial warfare by the military council, particularly in regions where revolutionary forces have established control.
