
On July 29 in Yangon, members of the People’s Force Strike Column and the Multi-Village Strike Column Committee joined forces to hold a protest against the military dictatorship. During the demonstration, participants peacefully gathered with slogans calling for opposition to the military dictatorship, complete elimination of the military dictatorship system, and the flourishing of democracy.
The protesters demonstrated their opposition to the oppression by the military council that seized power, demanding an end to human rights violations, violence against civilians, arbitrary arrests and detentions, and forced military service being perpetrated by the military council. They also affirmed their commitment to continue their democratic movement activities. The participants highlighted the military council’s brutal persecution of civilians, war crimes, and inhumane acts to bring international attention to these issues.
The demonstrators emphasized the need for all forces, both domestic and international, to continue fighting in unity for the end of the military dictatorship system. They expressed their determination to persist in their struggle for democracy and human rights, while condemning the ongoing violations and oppression by the military council against the people of Myanmar.
