The People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Saetottara Township has reported that 20 military personnel and Pyu Saw Htee members were killed during an operation against a military column in Magway Region’s Saetottara Township. The joint ground and air operation took place from July 22 to July 23 along the Saetottara-Ngape road and around Kutaw Pyu Saw Htee village. The operation began on July 22 at 7 AM with drone strikes targeting Kutaw Pyu Saw Htee village.
Later that day, at noon on July 22, a military column consisting of approximately 80 personnel, traveling in two military vehicles and two civilian vehicles from Ka Pa Sa 20, arrived at Kutaw Pyu Saw Htee village as reinforcements. Revolutionary forces attacked this column south of Thetlann village using nine high-powered mines, followed by small arms fire. Air units continued to pursue and attack the retreating military column until the evening of July 23. The two-day operation resulted in the deaths of nine Pyu Saw Htee members and eleven military personnel, totaling 20 casualties. Captain Kyaw Swar Myint Htut and numerous other military personnel and Pyu Saw Htee members were also wounded in the engagement.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Saetottara Township PDF in collaboration with allied forces, including the Myaing Township PDF and Battalion 4 from Minbu District. This coordinated operation has contributed to reducing military council activities in the region. The successful joint operation demonstrates the growing capabilities of resistance forces in conducting complex military operations against the military council’s forces, combining both ground and air assault tactics.
