A military council soldier was killed in a clash between revolutionary forces and military council troops from Military Post 22 in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region, according to an official from the Seikphyu Lone Tiger Force (LDF). The incident began around 3 PM on July 25, when revolutionary forces were laying mines along potential exit routes from Military Post 22. The exchange of fire lasted approximately 20 minutes, during which the military council side suffered casualties, though the exact numbers could not be confirmed. The revolutionary forces were conducting this operation to protect local civilians from ongoing abuse by military council troops who had been assaulting villagers in nearby areas.
The following day, on July 26 at around 11 AM, when military council troops returned to inspect the area where the previous day’s fighting had occurred, one soldier was killed after stepping on a mine planted by the revolutionary forces. The operation was jointly carried out by Zone 4 People’s Defense Force from Pauk Township, District 3 People’s Defense Force from Pakokku, and the Seikphyu Lone Tiger Force. The revolutionary forces had specifically targeted the military post area in response to reports of military council troops from Post 22 physically assaulting civilians in neighboring villages without provocation. This offensive into military-controlled territory was undertaken as a defensive measure to protect local residents from further military council abuse and violence.
