The ongoing conflict between Thailand and Cambodia has entered its third day, with Thai forces successfully capturing a strategic Cambodian military base in the disputed border region. According to Thai media reports, the Thai military seized control of a significant Cambodian military installation positioned along the contested border area between the two nations.
On July 26, at 9:20 AM Thai local time, Thai forces launched a successful offensive operation against the Cambodian military base located at Phu Makhuea mountain peak along the Thai-Cambodian border. Following the capture of the base, Thai forces raised their national flag within the compound. The engagement resulted in the deaths of 10 Cambodian soldiers, and Thai forces seized a substantial cache of military equipment and ammunition.
The captured military equipment, as documented in photographs released by the Thai military, includes various weapons such as AK-47 rifles, M16 rifles, machine guns, RPG launchers, 40mm weapons, surveillance drones, pistols, and other military hardware. Currently, Cambodian forces are attempting to reclaim the lost position through artillery bombardment, and fighting continues between the two sides in the disputed area.
