Two military council soldiers were killed when resistance forces attacked them while they were searching for food supplies near Yaylae Monastery in Kamma town, Pakokku Township, Magway Region. The incident occurred when approximately 30 military council troops, who were temporarily stationed at the monastery, ventured out to search for supplies due to food shortages. According to Daung Ni from the RED GIANT group, the resistance forces launched an interceptive attack on the military council troops around 4 PM on July 25.
The joint operation was carried out by several revolutionary forces including RED GIANT, Pakokku People’s Defense Force (PPDF), All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF) Column 3, Youth Guerrilla Force (YGF), PI PDF, Alintan Guerrilla Force (Myaing), TWF, and the Upper Land Allied Forces. The resistance forces successfully engaged the military council troops and were able to withdraw without suffering any casualties. The military council soldiers had been experiencing supply shortages at their temporary base in the monastery, which forced them to venture out in search of provisions.
Daung Ni from RED GIANT stated that they are continuing to investigate whether there were additional casualties among the military council forces, though they confirmed two soldiers were killed during the engagement. He also mentioned that if the military council troops remain in their current position at Kamma town for an extended period, the revolutionary forces plan to launch a decisive offensive to completely remove them from the area. The successful operation demonstrates the growing coordination and effectiveness of the various resistance groups in their fight against the military council forces in the region.
