The incident occurred on July 22, 2023, at approximately 11:20 AM when a military helicopter from Monywa’s Northwestern Command deliberately launched three bombs at the village. The aerial assault caused significant damage to a local school, and one civilian sustained shrapnel wounds to their arm during the attack.
According to a local resident’s account, the military helicopter specifically targeted the area near the school during the bombing. Of the three bombs dropped, two landed on the outskirts of the village. The resident confirmed that the injured person’s condition was not life-threatening. It was also verified that there had been no fighting or conflict in the area prior to this attack, making it an unprovoked assault on civilian infrastructure and population.
