
Local residents report that military council forces have entered villages in Minhlah Township, Bago Region, forcibly taking six civilians as porters and burning down houses. On July 11 at around 8 AM, military forces raided Nyaungpintha village, gathering villagers inside a school while searching their homes. During these searches, they looted valuable items and burned down one house. The military personnel forcibly took four young men from East Nyaungpintha village as porters: Ko Moe Di, Ko Nyi Nyi Moe Khant, Ko Phoe Kular, and Ko Win Htut Naung.
Furthermore, on July 12 at around 3 PM, military forces confiscated belongings from the homes of two internally displaced persons (IDPs), Ko Min Zaw and Ko San Min Aung, from Nga Hla Sam area. The soldiers loaded the items onto vehicles and subsequently detained both men as porters near Nyaungpintha village. Local residents have expressed that the military council forces continue to conduct raids in villages throughout Minhlah Township, forcing civilians to serve as porters. Many residents have had to flee to safer locations, with even IDPs being targeted for forced porter duty. A local resident confirmed that beyond the known cases, there are additional unreported detentions.
Similarly, on July 7 at around 12 PM, military council soldiers arrested Daw Eindre Thu and her aunt Daw Pein Thay, who were IDPs from Sampok village, as they were leaving the Immigration Office in Minhlah Township after completing their ID card registration. Subsequently, the military took Daw Eindre Thu and proceeded to arrest her mother, Daw Ma Htwe, in Letpadan town. The ongoing military operations have created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty among local residents, with many forced to flee their homes to avoid persecution. The situation continues to deteriorate as the military council forces maintain their campaign of intimidation and forced civilian labor in the region.
