
The Youth Liberation Alliance (YLA) and Ayartaw Township Student Union (All Burma Federation of Student Unions) successfully held a Martyrs’ Day commemoration ceremony at a designated location in Ayartaw Township, Sagaing Region, on July 19, 2023. The event was attended by local residents and youth from the area, marking an important observance of the national holiday.
The ceremony included several key activities, including political awareness talks, presentations about the martyred leaders, and poetry recitations by the attendees. Representatives from various organizations present at the ceremony paid their respects to the martyred leaders through formal tributes. As part of the event, informational pamphlets containing biographies of the martyred leaders and historical accounts were distributed to the attendees. The ceremony served as a platform for participants to learn about and honor the sacrifices made by Myanmar’s independence heroes.
The purpose of organizing this Martyrs’ Day ceremony was to commemorate the sacrifices of the national leaders who gave their lives in Myanmar’s struggle for independence, and to foster a spirit of nationalism and democracy among the new generation of youth. The event successfully brought together participants who were able to conduct the ceremony in unity and learn from the exemplary qualities of the martyred leaders. The commemoration served as both a reminder of the past and an inspiration for the continued struggle for democracy and freedom in Myanmar.
