People’s Defense Forces from various townships and village tracts in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, held a ceremony today, July 19, to commemorate the 78th Martyrs’ Day. During the ceremony, special tributes were paid to General Aung San and the other eight martyred leaders. The ceremony also honored the revolutionary heroes who sacrificed their lives during the Spring Revolution of 2021 in the fight against the military dictatorship.
During the ceremony, members of the People’s Defense Forces conducted memorial services and offered prayers for the martyred leaders and fallen revolutionary heroes, followed by a three-gun salute in their honor. Local residents who attended the ceremony paid their respects by bowing before the photographs of the martyred leaders and laying flower bouquets. They also remembered the noble intentions of the martyred leaders towards the people and renewed their commitment to continue striving for the establishment of a new democratic state, which was the ultimate goal of the martyrs.
