
On July 19 in Yangon, the People’s Defense Force Battalion 9703 under the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government held a ceremony commemorating the 78th Martyrs’ Day at a frontline base. The battalion commander led the ceremony paying tribute to democracy fighters and martyrs throughout different eras of Myanmar’s history. Officers and soldiers from the battalion attended the ceremony, where they paid respects before photographs of the martyred leaders and delivered commemorative speeches.
This ceremony was held to honor the martyred leaders who played crucial roles in Myanmar’s independence struggle and those who sacrificed their lives for democracy. In his speech, the battalion commander remembered the sacrifices of the martyred leaders and emphasized their continued commitment to the current democratic struggle for the benefit of the people.
