
The People’s Star Force successfully attacked a Pyu Saw Htee outpost in Letthit village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, resulting in two Pyu Saw Htee deaths and the seizure of military equipment, according to Colonel Mike Kyaw of the People’s Star Force. The attack occurred around noon on July 16th, targeting approximately 10 Pyu Saw Htee members who were reportedly using drugs at the time. During the engagement, the resistance forces also attacked a supply vehicle that had arrived from Myingyan city to deliver rations to the outpost.
During the operation, two Pyu Saw Htee members were killed, and the resistance forces captured two hand grenades, two ammunition magazines, and a box of supplies. The People’s Defense Force members successfully withdrew from the area without any casualties. The attack was reportedly carried out in retaliation for a fallen comrade who was killed during a battle in Twinboe village on June 2nd, as stated in the People’s Star Force’s announcement.
Simultaneously, in Magway Region, local People’s Defense Forces, including the Southern YSO PDF, conducted an ambush on a military council patrol near the western side of Pakokku Airport, resulting in the deaths of six soldiers, including one officer, as confirmed by Ko Aung Maung, the commander of Southern YSO PDF. The engagement, which occurred at 3 PM on July 15th, lasted over 20 minutes and left three additional military council troops wounded.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Southern Yesagyo Local Alliance, Southern YSO PDF, Dawn Brothers, People’s Force PDF, Yesagyo Revolution Group (YRG), and King Cobra forces. The resistance forces successfully withdrew without casualties after the operation. The bodies of the deceased soldiers were reportedly transported to Pakokku city by three-wheeled vehicle the following afternoon on July 16th. Ko Aung Maung, the Southern YSO PDF commander, reaffirmed their commitment to continue fighting until the complete elimination of the military dictatorship system.
