A spokesperson from the Urban Guerrilla Network has confirmed that three Pyu Saw Htee members were seriously injured following an attack on motorcycles leaving the Ward 71 Administrative Office in South Dagon Township, Yangon. The incident occurred around 10 PM on July 14, when UG fighters attacked a group of ward administrator and Pyu Saw Htee members who were leaving the ward office on five motorcycles. The attack was carried out using two remote-controlled improvised explosive devices and two hand grenades. As a result of the attack, two motorcycles were destroyed by fire, and three Pyu Saw Htee members sustained severe injuries, requiring emergency medical treatment at North Okkalapa Hospital.
According to the Urban Guerrilla Network spokesperson, the attack was conducted in opposition to the military council’s illegal election efforts and their practice of forcibly recruiting civilians as human shields in frontline operations. The spokesperson emphasized that this action was taken to resist the military council’s attempts to maintain power through oppression and exploitation of civilians. The Urban Guerrilla Network has also urged the public to refrain from participating in the military council’s election and to avoid close contact with individuals working to facilitate the election process.
The Urban Guerrilla Network has declared all pillars supporting the military council’s power retention through various forms of civilian oppression as enemies and announced their intention to launch attacks against them at any time. They have issued a warning to all ward and village administrators, Pyu Saw Htee members, military council employees, and informants who are collaborating with the terrorist military council to resign immediately and cease providing financial support to the military council. The network emphasized their commitment to continuing resistance against those who assist in implementing the military council’s oppressive policies against the civilian population.
