
In Moe Bye town’s Sat Sa Ya ward, Bawlakhe Township, Karenni State, an airstrike by the military forces killed seven civilians, including a child, and injured approximately twenty others, according to local residents. The aerial attack occurred around 2:30 PM on July 14, targeting civilians who were using WiFi internet services in the residential area. The attack specifically struck a group of people gathered at a WiFi service point in the Sat Sa Ya ward neighborhood.
During the attack, civilians including the WiFi shop owner and a child were using the internet when the military council’s air force conducted the bombing raid. Local sources confirmed that the strike also caused significant damage to residential buildings in the area. Additionally, on July 9, the military forces had previously attacked Lei Law Htee village near Moe Bye town with two 200-pound bombs, resulting in six civilian casualties and extensive damage to residential buildings.
According to local residents, the military forces have intensified their air operations in the Moe Bye region over the past weeks, particularly targeting civilian gatherings and residential areas. These deliberate attacks on civilian populations have created an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among local residents, who now face daily concerns about their safety and security.
