
According to local resistance sources, the military has conducted a raid on Sitone village in Letpadan Township, Bago Region, using villagers as human shields while burning down houses. The military forces entered the village suddenly around 11 AM on July 13 with a large contingent of troops, proceeding to arrest villagers and set fire to residential buildings. The sudden military operation forced many villagers to flee, with troops firing both heavy and small arms at escaping civilians.
The military column had advanced through Minhla Township before entering Letpadan Township, burning and looting villages along their path. While the exact number of villagers arrested during the raid on Sitone village remains unconfirmed, local sources report that numerous residents have been detained. The entire village population has been forced to evacuate, while their homes continue to be systematically destroyed by fire. Military forces remain present in Sitone village as of the current time, continuing their systematic destruction of villagers’ homes through arson.
