
The People’s Defense Force in Pyin Oo Lwin District has confirmed that four civilians, including a 16-year-old girl, were injured following military council airstrikes on Letku and Zapatkwin villages in Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region. The attacks, which occurred on the evening of July 12, were carried out by fighter jets from the Meiktila Shan Taw air base using 250-pound bombs.
The first airstrike hit Letku village at 7:18 PM, resulting in injuries to a 16-year-old girl. The second attack targeted Zapatkwin village at 7:22 PM, where one man and two women sustained injuries. Additionally, four houses were destroyed in the bombardment. While the injuries were reported as non-life-threatening, the victims are currently receiving medical treatment. Local sources confirmed that the military council’s attacks specifically targeted civilian areas.
Currently, military council forces are attempting to retake control of Thabeikkyin town, with multiple columns of troops advancing toward the area. Revolutionary forces have confirmed that the military has split their operations around the four and five-mile areas, forcing some resistance groups to tactically withdraw from certain positions. Local civilians have been displaced for several months, with continuous fighting and frequent airstrikes occurring in the region.
