
A representative from the Simple PDF Battalion 1 Support Unit in Thayarwaddy District has confirmed that two military council soldiers were killed in mine attacks on military columns in Letpadan Township, Bago Region’s Thayarwaddy District. On the evening of July 10, People’s Defense Forces conducted a mine attack on military council troops who were returning after forcibly recruiting civilians as porters between Htaukkyainkwin and Kyopin camps in Letpadan Township, resulting in casualties and injuries among the military personnel.
Prior to this incident, on the morning of July 7, People’s Defense Forces also carried out a mine attack on approximately 30 military council troops who were conducting patrol operations at the Hlwasinkone Myaw Inn junction in Letpadan Township. This attack resulted in the immediate death of two soldiers and left three others severely wounded. Among the injured, one soldier suffered eye injuries while another sustained neck wounds, according to detailed information provided by the Support Unit official.
These attacks were conducted by members of the Simple PDF Support Unit under Battalion 1 of Thayarwaddy District, Strategic Command 22, Bago Military Command. The People’s Defense Forces successfully withdrew from both operations without sustaining any casualties. The People’s Defense Army has issued warnings to civilians to avoid areas near military personnel, police, Pyu Saw Htee members, and military installations, as they will continue to carry out attacks against these targets when opportunities arise.
