
Local revolutionary sources report that military council forces have launched drone attacks and are burning houses in Phar Lay Kwin village, Minhla Township, Bago Region. On July 11, 2023, at around 7 AM, military council troops began their assault on Phar Lay Kwin village with drone strikes, followed by ground forces entering the village and setting houses on fire. The military forces also fired heavy weapons into the village, forcing all villagers to flee. The extent of casualties and injuries remains unconfirmed at this time.
Records show that military council forces have previously conducted similar destructive operations against other villages in Minhla Township. On June 20, they burned down 25 houses in Taung Pyat Village New Quarter. On June 22, they destroyed 9 houses in Yway Kone village and U Toe Kywe Lan Su village. On June 23, they burned a total of 91 houses across several villages including Bogyoke Htaung village, Salt Creek village, Sin Ain Channel Gate village, Gan Gaw Pin village, and Nga Hla San village. Furthermore, on June 24, they burned 5 houses in San Boke village, and on June 25, they destroyed 15 houses in Kwet Ma village and 40 houses in Kywe Ma Kaing village.
On July 2, the military council forces also raided and burned houses in Za Yit Myaung village and Shwe Pauk Pin village. Now, with their latest attack on Phar Lay Kwin village, local residents have been forced to abandon their homes and possessions to flee to safety. These brutal attacks by military council forces have resulted in the destruction of local residents’ homes, livelihoods, and properties, causing significant displacement and loss of civilian property throughout the region. The ongoing campaign of violence and destruction has left many communities devastated, with residents forced to seek refuge elsewhere, abandoning their homes and belongings in the face of military aggression.
