Revolutionary forces have successfully captured four major military council camps in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, including Hintha Gyi Village Pyu Camp, Boe Nat Taung Camp, Taung Hla Strategic Camp, and Boe Htun Kyaw Strategic Camp. On July 4, revolutionary forces launched simultaneous attacks on the military camps at Hintha Gyi Pyu Sawthi Village and Boe Nat Taung Strategic Hill in Kyauk Myaung Town, Shwebo Township. Despite the military council’s resistance with airstrikes, revolutionary forces successfully captured the entire Hintha Gyi Pyu Sawthi camp and the surrounding village by 2:30 PM, including the capture of Deputy Battalion Commander Major Chan Lwin Maung. The remaining military forces retreated to Ma Chauk village.
Later that day at 3 PM, revolutionary forces captured the Boe Nat Taung Strategic Hill camp, which was led by a G1 officer of the military council. The military forces retreated to Taung Hla Strategic Hill. The revolutionary forces continued their offensive against the Taung Hla Strategic Hill camp, with fighting lasting throughout July 4. The camp was finally captured in the early morning of July 5. On July 7 at approximately 5 PM, the forces successfully captured the fourth and final target, the Boe Htun Kyaw Strategic Camp in Shwebo Township.
During these battles, nine military council soldiers were killed and eight were wounded, with weapons and ammunition being seized (quantities still being verified). The operation was carried out by allied revolutionary forces including Shwebo District Battalions 15, 18, 23, 26, 1701, 9706 (DOUNG Ni PDF Battalions), Brave Brothers (Local PDF), Township (4) Shwebo Tiger (People’s Defense Force). Despite having over 80 troops, the military council forces retreated during the battles. This successful operation demonstrates the growing strength and coordination of revolutionary forces in the region, as they continue to challenge the military council’s control over strategic locations.
