
On the evening of the full moon day of Waso, an airstrike by the military council on Mogok city resulted in the death of 2 children and injured 8 others, according to local residents and humanitarian groups. At 8:18 PM on July 9, a military aircraft from Tada-U Air Base dropped a 300-pound bomb on Kular Garden in the eastern part of Mogok city, specifically in the Taung Kachin ward near Pan-ma area. The bomb exploded in the residential area, instantly killing two 12-year-old children and injuring 8 civilians, including children.
The airstrike damaged more than 10 residential houses, with at least 6 houses completely destroyed. Additionally, around 9 AM on July 8, the military council dropped a 500-pound bomb near Gaung Ba Valley School in western Mogok, resulting in 3 civilian deaths and numerous injuries. The attacks have caused significant destruction to civilian infrastructure and loss of life in residential areas.
Simultaneously, the military council conducted airstrikes in the Maw Chi region of Hpruso Township in Karenni State. At 7:35 PM, bombs were dropped on the Loilo Htee village area, resulting in civilian casualties. Previously, on June 25, the military council had conducted an unprovoked airstrike on Taung Paw village in the Maw Chi region, where bombs hit a mining operation site and a general store, killing 7 civilians and injuring many others. Military council aircraft also conducted bombing raids on several townships in Sagaing Region, as confirmed by revolutionary news sources. These attacks demonstrate a pattern of indiscriminate aerial bombardment of civilian areas by the military council, resulting in significant civilian casualties and destruction of property.
