
The terrorist military forces have been conducting continuous operations in five villages in Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region, burning houses and looting civilian properties at will, according to Comrade Thuta, an official from the Yankyi Aung People’s Defense Force. Beginning around 8 AM on July 8, the military council troops launched successive operations targeting villages in Nyaung-U Township, including Chaung Shay, West Ohn, Pwetine, Kyauk Pyin Kan, and Myaung villages.
The military column, which has joined forces with military council troops from the Nga Tharauk area, comprises hundreds of personnel. On July 8, they first attacked Chaung Shay village, burning down six houses, followed by destroying one house in West Ohn village and completely burning down Pwetine village. On July 9, the military forces continued their offensive by entering Kyauk Pyin Kan village, where they burned down 11 houses, and proceeded to attack Myaung village. The military operations are being conducted from two directions, with one column advancing from Ganga Pyu village and another joining from the Nga Tharauk area.
As a result of these military attacks, thousands of residents from numerous villages including Chaung village, West Ohn, Zeesamyint, Pwetine, Gyoekan, Saka, Kyauk Pyin Kan, Kyatoe, Myay Thant Taung, Matuypin, Pyaybwe, Myolat, Nyaunglay, Ywartha, Meelaungzar, Kyatoe Island, Myaung, Kannipauk, Taw village, and Kyaukkan have been forced to flee their homes. Comrade Thuta has appealed to fellow citizens both within Myanmar and abroad to provide whatever assistance they can to help these displaced civilians who have lost their homes and possessions.
