
A military council checkpoint on the outskirts of Salin town in Magway Region was attacked with explosives by resistance forces, resulting in the death of Major Moe Way Yan Lin and five other soldiers, according to a spokesperson from the People’s Comrades – Salin group. The attack occurred around 7:35 PM on July 4th, when revolutionary forces targeted a small military outpost stationed at the southern exit of Salin town with heavy explosives.
During the attack, Major Moe Way Yan Lin and five soldiers were killed instantly, and their bodies were transported to Salin Hospital by ambulance. The operation was jointly carried out by several resistance groups including the Salin Urban Guerrilla Force, People’s Security Force (Temporary), Bamar Army, and Pauktaung Medical Corps. All resistance fighters successfully withdrew from the area without any casualties after the operation.
This attack represents one of several offensive operations by resistance forces against the military council in the Salin region, carried out in response to the military council’s oppression of local civilians. The military council has maintained checkpoints in the area where they conduct inspections, collect illegal taxes, and intimidate local residents, according to local sources. The successful operation demonstrates the growing coordination and capabilities of resistance forces in their fight against military occupation in the region.
