
A spokesperson from the Chauk Revolution Army (CRA) has confirmed that three members of the military council forces were killed during a clash in Chauk Township, Magway Region. The incident occurred on July 2nd at approximately 11:15 AM when revolutionary alliance forces intercepted a military column from Infantry Battalion 416 based in Salay Township, consisting of about 80 troops, between Myay Padun village and Taung Tha village in Chauk Township.
The battle lasted over an hour with both sides engaging in heavy artillery and small arms fire. During the confrontation, approximately 15 military council soldiers, including one officer, were severely wounded. Military council forces called for air support three times, with a Y-8 aircraft launching approximately 15 rockets during the engagement. According to battle reports, the military council troops were forced to retreat from their position after sustaining significant casualties.
Following the battle, military council forces withdrew toward Salay through Kapaungdae, carrying their wounded on stretchers, according to the CRA information officer. The operation was a joint effort involving multiple revolutionary forces, including the Chauk Revolution Army (CRA), Myaing Township People’s Defense Force, Magway District Battalion 1, Chauk Township People’s Defense Force, and local allied forces. The military council forces had initially advanced from Salay, moving through Ywa Ngay Kan along the road and attempting to push toward the Pakhangay area before encountering resistance.
