The Karenni Allied Forces Military Command officially announced on July 3 that they have successfully captured the Military Council’s Infantry Battalion 134 based in Pharsaw, Karenni State. The offensive operations began on June 25, targeting both Infantry Battalion 134 and Infantry Battalion 135 stationed in Pharsaw. After five days of intense fighting, the resistance forces managed to completely seize control of Infantry Battalion 134 on June 30.
During the operation, the Karenni Allied Forces captured a significant cache of weapons and ammunition from the Military Council forces, including 120mm heavy weapons, howitzer artillery, and various other military equipment and ammunition. Furthermore, in a significant development on July 2 at 1:00 AM, when four military council fighter jets attempted to conduct bombing raids on the battle area in Pharsaw, the resistance forces successfully shot down one Chinese-made FTC 2000 G fighter aircraft. The Allied Forces Command confirmed this as a major tactical victory in their ongoing resistance against the military council.
The wreckage of the downed aircraft was located around Pharsaw town at 2:00 PM on July 3, along with the remains of two pilots. This success marks a significant advancement in the Karenni Allied Forces’ campaign against the military council and represents an important step forward in the local population’s struggle for liberation. The capture of the military base and the downing of the fighter jet demonstrate the growing capabilities of the resistance forces in their fight against the military council’s operations in the region.
