
Local residents report that the military council forces have entered and set fire to Kyihtaik village in Salin Township, Magway Region, without any fighting taking place, forcing the entire village population to flee. On July 3rd at approximately 9:25 AM, about 100 military council troops entered Kyihtaik village and began burning and destroying properties. During the raid, the military forces fired small arms at villagers, causing all residents to flee and seek shelter elsewhere.
Kyihtaik village, which consists of over 70 households, was attacked by military forces who began burning houses from the center of the village. The military column entered through the western village road of Thayetchin and later withdrew toward Moewin village. Local sources indicate that the eastern and western parts of Kyihtaik village had previously been burned down by the military forces. Currently, thousands of civilians from several villages in Salin Township, including Ohntaw village, Thamyinkyin village, Kyihtaik village, Kyaungkone village, and Kanyat village, have been forced to flee their homes.
According to a local resident, it is still unclear whether any villagers were arrested during the raid, but people from neighboring villages have also fled to safety. The brutal actions of the military council forces have resulted in significant losses for local residents, including their livelihoods and homes, while also creating serious security concerns for the displaced population. The ongoing military operations continue to cause widespread displacement and humanitarian concerns in the region, with civilians bearing the brunt of the violence and destruction.
