Around 11 AM, military council troops stationed at Cheepa Mountain Monastery entered Zaritmyaung village and systematically burned down houses. Subsequently, at approximately 11:20 AM, they proceeded to enter Shwepaukpin village and continued their destruction by setting fire to residential homes. Local residents were forced to flee to safety as the military council troops continued to burn the remaining houses that had initially escaped the flames. Local sources confirmed that the systematic destruction of both villages was carried out by military council forces stationed at the Cheepa Mountain Monastery.
Simultaneously, in Natogyi Township of Mandalay Region, military council forces conducted airstrikes on two villages, resulting in severe injuries to two elderly women and the destruction of nine houses. The aerial attack, which occurred on June 29, caused an 80-year-old woman to lose her leg, while another 67-year-old woman sustained serious injuries to her neck and abdomen. Local sources confirmed that the airstrikes resulted in significant civilian casualties and property damage, with nine houses completely destroyed in the attack. The military council’s continued use of airstrikes against civilian areas has caused widespread displacement and destruction in the region, according to local residents who witnessed the attacks.
