The leader of the Chindwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force (PDF), Ko Byike, has confirmed that their forces, along with allied resistance groups, successfully attacked a military council naval fleet moving upstream along the Chindwin River in Salingyi Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in military casualties. The attack took place around 2 PM on June 28, when revolutionary forces launched coordinated strikes from three different positions against the advancing military vessels. The resistance forces, including the Chindwin Dynamite PDF and their allies, employed forward mines and small arms in their offensive operations.
According to detailed battle reports, the military council forces had initially stationed themselves at the Chindwin Bridge (Shin Phyu Shin Bridge) on the evening of June 27. Their fleet consisted of 9 flat-bottomed vessels, 2 large warships, and 1 smaller warship that had arrived via the Ayeyarwady River. The following morning at 6 AM, they continued their upstream journey with two paramotors, during which they fired two artillery shells toward the Thabeikkyin area, resulting in the deaths of 4 civilians. During the engagement, one of the military’s flat-bottomed vessels was damaged, though the warships provided covering fire as the fleet continued its upstream movement along the Chindwin River.
The joint operation involved multiple resistance groups, including the Chindwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force (Salingyi), Taung Pan Ni Special Guerrilla Force (Salingyi), 5/Fighter Group Local PDF (Monywa), Solo Aung Gyi (Salingyi), Yinmabin District Strategic Battalion 48’s 3rd Company 3 Defender Of Our Motherland, and the Special Guerilla Force (Monywa). All resistance forces successfully withdrew from the operation without sustaining any casualties. While there were confirmed casualties on the military council’s side, the exact numbers could not be verified. The Chindwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force has appealed to both domestic and international support organizations for continued assistance, even if it’s just the contribution of a single bullet, to maintain their resistance operations against the military council.
