
Revolutionary forces successfully attacked and captured a Pyu Saw Htee militia camp in Kyaukka village, Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region, resulting in the seizure of weapons and ammunition along with the recovery of three deceased military council soldiers, according to an official from Myeik District Battalion No. 1. The attack commenced at approximately 5:30 AM on June 27, 2025, and lasted about 15 minutes. Following the engagement, remaining military council soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militia members fled from the camp.
The seized military equipment included four M16A1 rifles with two magazines, one AK-47 rifle with four magazines, 1,000 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, 138 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two hand grenades, and various other military supplies. The operation was jointly conducted by the People’s Defense Force Myeik District Battalion No. 1 and the Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO) Battalion 7. The successful raid demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in the region.
Kyaukka village represents a strategically important location within Tanintharyi Region, where the military council had established the Pyu Saw Htee camp to maintain control over the area. This victory marks a significant achievement for local security and justice, according to resistance forces. Reports confirm that no resistance fighters were injured during the operation. The capture of this military position represents another step forward in the ongoing struggle against the military council’s control over civilian populations in the region.
