
The military council conducted a second aerial bombardment on Kyaukme city in northern Shan State, which is currently under the control of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), in the early morning of June 27, according to local residents. The attacks occurred at 00:46 and 00:51, with military aircraft dropping two bombs on a construction compound in the North Hill area. While damage was reported from the bombing, detailed information about the extent of destruction was not immediately available.
Previously on June 24, the military council carried out its first airstrike on Kyaukme city, targeting areas near Pan Sanpay Tea Shop and Standard Rice Shop with two bombs, resulting in four civilian casualties and numerous injuries. Additionally, in Naung Cho town, the military council has been conducting artillery attacks despite the absence of active fighting. On June 26, they fired four howitzer shells at Zone 9 of the Market Ward in Naung Cho, causing injuries to one civilian and damaging three houses, according to TNLA’s statement.
The military council also launched an artillery attack on Zone 10 of Naung Cho’s Market Ward on June 25 at 10:45 PM, firing eight shells that damaged two houses, with some shells exploding in the forest area below Stone Cave Monastery. Despite declaring a ceasefire for the entire month of June, the military council has been conducting intense offensive operations in Naung Cho township, continuously carrying out artillery strikes and aerial bombardments on the town, according to TNLA’s press releases.
