A military council patrol suffered casualties during an ambush near Myotha Industrial Zone in Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region, when resistance forces attacked soldiers who were collecting water on the morning of June 23. According to a spokesperson from the Ngazun Township People’s Defense Force (PDF), six military council soldiers were killed and one weapon was seized during the operation. The incident occurred around 7 AM when revolutionary forces launched a coordinated attack using mines and small arms fire against military council troops who had left their base to collect water.
The ambush took place near Myotha Industrial Zone along a route frequently used by military council soldiers for their daily water collection duties. Resistance forces had conducted surveillance of the military council troops’ movements before planning and executing the operation. During the engagement, six military council soldiers were killed, and the resistance forces captured a G3 assault rifle. The revolutionary forces were able to withdraw safely from the area without suffering any casualties after successfully completing their mission.
The Ngazun Township People’s Defense Force maintains constant surveillance of military council troop movements in the area and conducts strategic operations aimed at disrupting supply lines, seizing weapons and ammunition, and reducing the military council’s fighting capacity. These successful attacks have reportedly contributed to declining morale among military council forces in the region while strengthening the operational capabilities of revolutionary forces. The PDF continues to implement tactical operations as part of the broader resistance movement against the military council’s presence in the area.
