
According to battle reports, resistance forces conducted a drone attack on military council troops stationed in Yephyukan village in Nyaunglebin District, Bago Region, resulting in the death of 4 soldiers. The attack occurred on June 20 at 8:30 PM when revolutionary forces launched two 60mm mortar shells, which hit the building where military council troops were positioned. Although the military council forces responded with heavy weapons fire, the resistance forces were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties.
A representative from the 7Ravens Drone Force, which participated in the attack, stated that the exact number of military council troops was not yet known, and they were still gathering information about potential additional casualties. Similarly, battles occurred in Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region, where the People’s Democratic Army (PDA) attacked a military council column including three tanks from Nyaung-U town, resulting in military casualties according to their announcement.
On June 23, resistance forces attacked two military columns – one consisting of three tanks from Nyaung-U town and another with approximately 80 troops from Taungzin police station – using landmines, leading to a 15-minute exchange of fire. During this engagement, one resistance fighter sustained a non-life-threatening head injury from artillery fire from the military council forces. The ongoing military operations in the area have forced residents from 10 villages in Nyaung-U Township to flee their homes, creating an urgent need for emergency food supplies and medical assistance.
The Nyaung-U region has been experiencing frequent military operations by the council forces, resulting in repeated clashes. Revolutionary forces continue to investigate the details of military council casualties from these encounters. The situation has created a humanitarian crisis as civilians are forced to abandon their homes to escape the military council’s operations, while resistance forces maintain their defensive positions and continue to engage military council troops in the area.
