A military convoy of the terrorist military council traveling from Myeik to Tanintharyi in Tanintharyi Region was attacked by resistance forces, resulting in the destruction of two military vehicles and numerous casualties, according to a spokesperson from the Tanintharyi Township People’s Defense Force. The attack occurred around 11 AM on June 19th, when revolutionary forces intercepted the military convoy consisting of eight vehicles at two locations between Kan Taw village and Kaw Ma Pyint village.
The coordinated attack was carried out by Zone 5, Zone 3, and Black Panther units of the Tanintharyi Township People’s Defense Force. The resistance forces successfully conducted the operation and were able to withdraw safely without suffering any casualties. The attack targeted the military convoy using mines and tactical strikes at strategic points along the route between the two villages, effectively disrupting the military council’s movement in the area.
These operations are part of the ongoing resistance efforts to control and limit the military council’s movements within Tanintharyi Region, aimed at protecting civilian populations and maintaining security in territories controlled by revolutionary forces. While the exact number of military casualties could not be independently verified, reports from the battle indicate significant injuries among the military council troops. The successful operation demonstrates the growing capabilities of resistance forces in conducting coordinated attacks against military council movements in the region, as they continue their struggle to protect civilian areas from military council operations.
