
Strike forces from Hpakant, Seing Taung, and Tarmakhan areas in Hpakant Township, Kachin State, held a ceremony today, June 19, to commemorate the 80th birthday of democratic leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Local residents and members of strike forces participated in the event, holding photographs of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and offering birthday wishes.
During the ceremony, strike force leaders delivered speeches emphasizing the importance of collective effort in ending the military dictatorship, establishing a federal democratic system, and building a just society. They urged continued struggle for the release of all political prisoners, the complete elimination of the military dictatorship system, and the victory of democratic forces. The speakers emphasized the need for unity among all people in continuing the fight for democracy.
Attendees at the ceremony offered prayers for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s long life and health, while making commitments to continue their efforts for the country’s liberation with all their strength.
