The People’s Defense Force (PDF) of Hkamti Township and Battalion 36 from Yinmabin District celebrated the 78th birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on June 19 with a commemorative ceremony. The event was conducted with great enthusiasm and participation from the resistance forces.
During the birthday celebration, PDF members paid tribute by carrying photographs of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, cutting birthday cake, and taking commemorative photographs to mark the occasion. The participants also offered prayers and well-wishes for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s release and freedom.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has been detained since the military coup on February 1, 2021, and is currently being held in Naypyidaw Prison. She has been sentenced to multiple years in prison through illegitimate court proceedings by the military council. Despite her imprisonment, the people of Myanmar continue to maintain their respect and trust in her leadership, demonstrating their unwavering support through various forms of resistance against the military regime.
