The National Unity Government (NUG) Defense Minister U Yee Mon stated that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who turns 80 years old today on June 19, will be listening to the victory song of the people’s revolution. This statement was made as a birthday wish for the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on her 80th birthday.
U Yee Mon emphasized that while Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is spending her 80th birthday in detention, the people of Myanmar are missing her deeply. He noted the inverse relationship between public love and military hatred for Aung San Suu Kyi, stating that the more the people love her, the more the military regime despises her. He expressed confidence that Aung San Suu Kyi is anticipating the victory song of the people’s revolution. The minister highlighted the significance of both General Aung San and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi as father and daughter to Myanmar society, praising their moral character, wisdom, courage, and sacrifices as guiding lights for all Myanmar people.
Similarly, 88 Generation student leader U Min Ko Naing stated that rather than merely making birthday wishes, people are taking practical actions. He emphasized that participants from all sectors are sacrificing their lives, wealth, labor, and intellect to fight for justice until the revolution succeeds, and he wanted the public leader to know this situation. Additionally, TNLA Ta’ang National Liberation Army Secretary General Major General Tar Bone Kyaw also extended birthday wishes to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, expressing hope for her swift return to leading Myanmar.
