
A temporary military council camp near Shwe Moe Nyo Pagoda in Pay Village, Kanpauk area of Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, was attacked by resistance forces, resulting in at least three military casualties, according to local revolutionary forces. The attack, which took place on June 15, was led by the Yebyu Township Allied Forces Coalition. The military council side also suffered numerous injuries during the engagement. Despite continuous artillery support from the Morawaddy Naval Base Headquarters at Ohnpinkwin, the allied resistance forces were able to successfully withdraw without any casualties.
The military council’s strength in the Pay village area is estimated to be around 100 personnel, spread across six different outposts. The attacking force consisted of multiple resistance groups including the Dauna Battalion, Unit 7 – Launglone Peninsula Force, Unit 6 – Waehin, Yebyu Township People’s Defense Force, Dawei District Battalion 1, Dawei People’s Liberation Force’s Thagara Column, Nagani Leopard Force, and the Shwe Bi Lon forces. The coordinated attack demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in the region.
The resistance forces have issued warnings to civilians living near military council camps to remain vigilant due to ongoing military operations in the area. They emphasized that the safety and security of local residents remain their top priority. The successful operation against the military council camp represents a significant achievement for the resistance forces in their ongoing struggle against the military regime, while highlighting the importance of coordinated actions between different resistance groups operating in the Tanintharyi Region.
