
The Ministry of Health under the National Unity Government (NUG) has officially announced on June 18 that it is recruiting healthcare workers to serve in the Tanintharyi Region. The recruitment call encompasses a wide range of medical professionals, including specialist doctors, general practitioners, specialized nurses, general nurses, health officers, lady health visitors (LHV), public health supervisors-1, midwives, and public health supervisors-2. The announcement specifically mentions that specialists and nurses from any specialization can apply, and health officers of all ranks are eligible for the positions.
The recruitment comes with important eligibility criteria for the applicants. For those who are civil servants, they must be participants in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) and must have no affiliations with the military council. Similarly, non-civil servant applicants must also have no connections to the military council. Selected candidates will be required to serve in locations designated by the Ministry of Health under the National Unity Government. Interested candidates can obtain application forms through the Human Resources Department of the NUG’s Ministry of Health.
The National Unity Government has emphasized its commitment to ensuring the safety and social security of healthcare workers who are participating in healthcare services during the revolutionary period. Special measures have been put in place to guarantee workplace safety and security during the current period, and the government has promised to provide life security benefits and special privileges under the federal democratic system after the success of the revolution. This recruitment initiative aims to enhance healthcare services for the people in the Tanintharyi Region by establishing a dedicated healthcare workforce committed to serving the public under the legitimate civilian government.
