
Three military soldiers were killed when the Nagani Guerrilla Force launched a mine attack on military troops who were extorting money from civilians near Myotha Hospital in Nganzun Township, Mandalay Region. The attack occurred around 5:50 AM on June 16th, in response to the military council’s checkpoint operations where they had been harassing civilians. According to local sources, approximately 25 soldiers were stationed at the checkpoint, where they had been regularly threatening, verbally abusing, and forcefully demanding money from civilians.
The attack involved the use of a large mine, followed by approximately two minutes of return fire from the military council forces. The mine explosion resulted in three soldiers being killed and four others wounded, according to a representative from the Nagani Guerrilla Force. The area includes a permanent police station, and the military council forces had set up their checkpoint near the hospital entrance, where they would stop vehicles, three-wheelers, and motorcycles for inspection and demand various fines under different pretexts.
Additionally, in Magway Region’s Myaing Township, a member of the military-controlled Pyu Saw Htee was killed when the Victor Guerrilla Force conducted a sniper attack on a guard tower at the Kan Ni Pyu outpost. The shooting occurred on June 10th, with the wounded Pyu Saw Htee member succumbing to his injuries on June 13th. The operation involved coordination between multiple resistance forces, including the Victor Guerrilla Force, Pakokku District Battalion 2 Company 2, Monywa District Battalion 25 Company 2, Sniper Unit, Central Plains Guerrilla Force Myaing PDF, Lightning Guerrilla Force Myaing PDF, and allied forces.
