According to a statement from a Bago District People’s Defense Force (PDF) official, revolutionary forces successfully launched an artillery attack on Military Battalion 598 and its bunker construction sites in Shwegyin Township, Bago Region. The attack took place on June 10, targeting the military council’s position between Kwin Seik and Win Kan villages. The coordinated assault resulted in significant casualties among the military council forces.
The attack resulted in two military council troops being killed, with seven others sustaining injuries, including two who were severely wounded. Local sources reported that the injured soldiers were evacuated to villages on the western bank of the Sittaung River. The operation was jointly carried out by multiple revolutionary forces, including the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), People’s Defense Forces from Bago District, Daik-U, and Kawa townships, and the United Defense Force (UDF).
This military operation was aimed at controlling the movement of military council forces in the region and preventing the expansion of their fortified positions. The revolutionary forces have been strengthening their military cooperation and maintaining constant surveillance of military council activities in the area. The successful coordination between various resistance groups demonstrates their growing capability to conduct effective operations against military council positions and their commitment to opposing the military council’s presence in the region.
