During the operation, they also seized various weapons including two G-3 rifles, six carbine rifles, two 12-gauge shotguns, and related military equipment.
During the battle, the military council forces launched aerial attacks using a Y-12 aircraft, dropping 19 bombs on the area. Although the Pyu Saw Htee members responded with heavy artillery fire, the revolutionary forces successfully completed their mission without suffering any casualties. The operation was carried out through coordination between multiple revolutionary forces including Shwebo District Battalions 23, 18, 15, 26, 9706, 1701, and local People’s Defense Forces.
According to Ko Nay Myo, the spokesperson for Battalion 18 of Shwebo District, the Pyu Saw Htee members in Sepin Island village had been committing serious crimes against civilians, including rape and murder of young women in their village and killing innocent civilians from neighboring villages. This operation was conducted in response to these atrocities and achieved its objectives in neutralizing the threat to local civilians. The successful raid represents a significant victory for revolutionary forces in their ongoing efforts to protect civilian populations from armed groups aligned with the military council.
