
Three military personnel, including one officer, were killed in a battle that occurred near Ma Tu military gate in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, on June 12. The attack was jointly carried out by resistance forces including Brave Heart Army, Golden Target Force, and Chindwin Fighter Group. The incident took place when a military convoy from Sagaing Division 33 was traveling along the Monywa-Mandalay highway.
The battle began at 5:40 PM when resistance forces attacked the military convoy consisting of 19 copper transport trucks, 8 armored vehicles, and 3 canvas-covered six-wheel trucks. The resistance forces initially deployed 5 Padamya mines near the Ma Tu military checkpoint at the entrance of Monywa city, followed by attacks with heavy and light weapons. The attack resulted in the destruction of one armored vehicle and two copper transport trucks, with numerous military personnel sustaining injuries.
Following the attack, the military transported the dead and wounded using one hearse, one civilian vehicle, and one armored vehicle. The injured were taken to Shwe Taw Win Hospital in Monywa. According to resistance forces, none of their members were injured during the operation. However, they have called for public support in providing necessary ammunition and weapons to continue their resistance efforts against the military forces.
